She was born on April 14, 1912 in Middlegrove, Illinois.
She was a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL with a BA in education and taught school prior to starting her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur D. Young and son Michael, and is survived by her sister Frances Putman, of Canton, IL.
She is also survived by her four children, Julie Ford of Fort Myers, FL; Jane Young of Urbana, IL; Tom Young of the boat Blue Water and M. Liz Bennett of Naples, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery at rural Lewistown.
