Son of William and Alice Hixson.

I believe the Daniel Hixson (113301351) in Ross County is David's brother.

David's first wife, and mother of at least his first 3 children, was Martha King.

Regarding how many wives David Hixson had...

according to Catherine's 100th birthday announcement in The Highland Weekly News, Hillsboro, Ohio, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 1883, it states that Catherine was the "third wife of David Hixson"

Some believe that his son John is a son of a 2nd wife.

Given that David and Catherine were married in 1809 and John seems to have been born in 1807, there may be truth to that.

Comparing DNA tests and looking for a connection to the Ruse family might prove useful, but I'm finding autosomal tests pretty iffy for connections this far back. At this distance we are all potentially related via multiple lines.

However, if you descend from John, and are up to a deep dive into the DNA evidence, let me know.
