The serious illness of August Wagener of Walla Walla, Wash., which was recently mentioned in the Reporter, culminated last Thursday when he passed away there at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Chas. E. Moore.

Deceased was seventy-four years of age, a native of Groeve, Germany. He came to America with his parents at the age of five years. The Wageners settled in Mishicot and the decedent lived there until 1918 when he went to reside in the West. Mr. Wagener was well known throughout this county as a man of kind personality and sociable nature. His many friends were glad to greet him when he returned here not long ago for a visit and he expected to repeat his visit soon but death intervened.

Two daughters, Mrs. Chas. Moore of Walla Walla and Miss Leona, a student of Columbia University, New York, survive him.

The funeral was held at Walla Walla.
