Leo was born in Drum, Kentucky on September 5th, 1929, son of the late Willie Brinson and Nannie Meece Brinson.
Leo was survived by his loving wife, "Cookie" Cook Brinson, whom he married in December of 1955; one son, Gerald Lee (and Pam Vaught) Brinson of the Nelson Valley community of Pulaski County, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Jonathan Brinson and Hillary Brinson; five brothers, Arnold (and Birdena) Brinson and Bill (and Violet) Brinson all of Ohio, Garland (and Joyce) Brinson, Starland (and Doris) Brinson and Pete (and Joann) Brinson all of Kentucky; two sisters, Janet (and Jack) Woodall and Margaret Hall of Kentucky; and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Enoch Brinson, who departed this life on January 5th, 1986 and Nannie Florence Brinson, who departed this life on March 23rd, 1973; two brothers, Ernest "Ernie" Brinson, who departed this life on December 19th, 1981 and Carvel Eugene "Todd" Brinson, who departed this life on May 19th, 1980; and one sister, Genie V. Brinson, who died in infancy on June 12th. 1928.
Leo was a kind person, he was a member and trustee of the Rock Lick Baptist Church in Pulaski County, Kentucky, and member of the Scenic Beagle Club and the Lake Cumberland Riding Club. He was retired from Cumberland Wood and Chair and he also was a farmer. He is greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitations were held at the Rock Lick Baptist Church on Grundy Road in Somerset, Kentucky from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, June 2nd, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd, 2011 at the Rock Lick Baptist Church with Bro. David Evans and Bro. Chuck Pollard officiating.
Burial followed in the Rock Lick Baptist Church Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
