There is no surname on the marker for three young children at Fuller-Cole Cemetery -- Adelbert (1845-1854), Sally J. (1847-1850), and William J (1850-1854). The surname is listed in an online cemetery transcription as WRIGHT for the three children, but no verification of that surname was found while doing research in 2023. This marker is not far away from the marker for Alvin J. McColley.

An entry was found in the 1850 US Census for Manley (b ~ 1820 NY) and Jane (b ~ 1822 NY) McCalley (sic) living in Marcellon, Columbia County, WI with two children, Adelbert (age 5) and Sally (age 3). It is believed that the three children listed on the grave marker may be the children of Manley and Jane McColley.

A Find a Grave contributor who is a member of the McColley family and has done extensive research on the family was contacted. He also believes that these children are likely the children of Manley and Asa Jane McColley.

According to his research, the family was in Trumbell (or possibly Ashtabula) County Ohio prior to coming to Wisconsin. They first settled in Lake township of Milwaukee County WI and then came to Marcellon township of Columbia County, WI a few years later. Manley was not in Columbia County very long and returned to Ohio. It appears that Manley and Asa Jane may have had 3 or 4 children, but none lived to adulthood.

There is another listing in the cemetery for Ellen L. Wright who died on 9-19-185?. No marker was found for her in 2023, but it's possible she could be a McColley as well.
