Son of Matthew & Anna Novak

The family and friends of Albert Novak, rural Owen, were shocked and saddened Friday evening when they learned of his sudden death, apparently due to a heart attack.

Mr. Novak had been at the O-W Foodliner shopping and had left the store carrying a bag of groceries. A short time later he was found slumped over dead in his car parked in the store's parking lot.

At 1:30 Tuesday afternoon final rites were conducted from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Green Grove (Colby Township) Officiating was the Rev. Robin Fink. Burial was made at Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Serving as casket bearers were Milford Ewert, Marvin Augustine, Calvin Schulz, Leo Plantico, Joe Makovec and Harley Hardrath.

Albert Novak, 65, was born April 25, 1910 in the Town of Green Grove, where he had continued to reside. He attended the Owen school system, and on October 26, 1940 married the former Carmen Hotchkiss in a ceremony performed in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Town of Green Grove. The couple farmed in the township for many years, until 1965, when he was employed at Post-Teledyne, Owen. He left that firm in 1968 and in 1969 was employed at the Clark County Hospital as a night watchman, a position he retired from several weeks ago.

Mourning his loss and sudden death are his wife, Carmen; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Deborah) Solbol, Thorp, and Sandra, at home; a brother, Louis Novak, Owen; two sisters, Mrs. Mike (Elsie) Kovatch, Owen, and Miss Mary Novak, Evanston, Ill., and one grandchild.
