John Holcomb Sr a resident of Henryetta passed away on June 6, 2011 in Henryetta at the age of 89. Born September 27, 1921 in Weleetka,Ok to John and Ollie (Thornton) Holcomb. John was a veteran of WWII serving in the army. He spent his tour of duty in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe as an Antiaircraft gunner. When he returned to the US he married Martha Dodds and worked at the Zinc Smelter plant and later drove a school bus for Henryetta public Schools. He was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and the VFW. He also was the First Christian Church custodian for more than 30 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, parents brother Lyman Holcomb and 2 sisters; Francis McClellan and Margarette Hopkins.

Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Wolf, officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the US Army. Service under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
