He was a member of the Elks Club, president of Scott Realty Co. and past president of the First Bank of Madison and Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Scott; a son, John E. Scott, Jr. of Madison; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Untied Methodist Church, with burial in Springdale Cemetery.
Visitation at Lytle Mortuary will be after 3 p.m Thursday.
