Father's name - Sa___ Gordon. (NOTE: Calculated birth date would be about 1782. In the 1850 Pulaski Co., KY census, Sarah is 68 years old born in Virginia.)
(2) CENSUS: Found in the 1830 & 1840 Pulaski Co., Kentucky census. In 1830, she is head of household with 6 children. In 1840, she is head of household with 4 children. According to census records, children include - John H., Tabitha, Nancy, Isaac, Mary, Elizabeth, Jane, James L., Sally, & Fanny. (NOTE: Children's names have come from various family sources - some have been proven, some have not.)
(3) MILITARY: REVOLUTIONARY WAR Pension Application #R8719 filed by Sarah Gordon Dye Reynolds, 17 NOV 1849: (1) Sarah Gordon states she married William Dye on 6 June 1798 in Caswell County, NC. Their marriage certificate was placed in the family bible and that bible was given to a son who moved to Missouri.
Sadly, the pension was not granted upon the grounds that the proof of marriage was not sufficient.
(4) 2 MARRIAGES: (#1) William Dye, 1798; (#2) Matthew Reynolds on 16 NOV 1831, but in the pension application of November 1848, states Matthew passed away 6 years ago last December.
