John (Jack) Henry Hadfield, 74, died Tuesday in a Brigham City Hospital. He had been taken there for treatment of pneumonia, but, died of a heart attack.

He was born on March 2, 1892 in Syracuse, Utah, a son of Joseph and Mary Jane Oliver Hadfield. The family moved to Riverside when he was a child.

He married Louise Hancock on June 19, 1911 in Pocatello, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 1920.

The family lived in Downey, Idaho and Riverside, Utah, prior to moving to Tremonton, Utah in 1921. He was an Elder in the Tremonton Second Ward.

John hauled milk for 19 years and served as Chief of Police in Tremonton for five years.

Surviving are his widow, Tremonton, Utah; and the following sons and daughters, Mrs Joe (Myrna) Smith and Mrs
Byron (Sheryl Gae) Bronson, Tremonton, Utah; Mrs Floyd (Bertha) Gardner, Deweyville, Utah; Mrs Othello (Mead) Stokes and Mrs Jack (Therma) Hamilton, Brigham City, Utah; Mrs George E (Luella) Gunderson and Mrs John (Darlene) Mellies, Salt Lake City, Utah; Leon, Kearns, Utah; John Lavoy, Boise, Idaho; Lionel, LaPuenta, California; and Mrs Marvin (Ardella) Barfuss, Bremmerton, Oregon; also 24 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, J O Hadfieldd, Riverside, Utah; Ralph, Camarello, California; Mrs A A Buxton, Tremonton, Utah; Mrs Hazel VanLeuven, Downey, Idaho and Mrs Ida Byington, Boise, Idaho.

Burial was held in the Riverside Cemetery, Riverside, Utah.
