A few minutes before midnight on Monday night [3 Aug] Edward W. Lee, a lifelong resident of Ballston Spa, died at his home on Front Street after years of suffering. Mr. Lee was, before he was prostrated by paralysis, about 10 years age, one of the leading business men of Ballston,and for many years conducted business in a store situated at the corner of Front and Bath Streets, where the First National Bank now stands [now Ballston Spa Village offices]. He was born in Ballston Spa, May 3, 1809, reared here, in early life in business with his father, whom he succeeded. He married Miss Anna M. Williams October 10, 1831. He leaves his family, his wife, 4 daughters and 1 son. His funeral will be attended tomorrow afternoon at 4 o’clock.
