Juanita was born February 18, 1909, the fourth of six children born to John Wilton . and Pernicia Isabel ( McBrayer) Hollabaugh. She was born in Colorado City, Texas. The children were Tessie (1901), Bessie (1904), Lillie(1907), Juanita (1909), Fred(1910) and Lois (1914). The family moved from Mountain Peak, Ellis County, Texas to Vera, Knox County, Texas in the Fall of 1917 when Juanita was a 9 year old child. Oscar Hollabaugh gave his brother, John, the opportunity to purchase a 160 acre farm with a nice house and barn on it. They lived on the farm while paying Oscar their cotton crop money each year until the farm was paid for. The Hollabaugh family traveled by covered wagon to reach Vera. Juanita and Fred rode in the wagon driven by their Papa and Bessie. Mama and Tessie drove the other wagon with Lillie and Lois with them. The trip took them 14 days to arrive in Munday, Texas in Knox County. They were twenty miles away from the farm in Vera. They had to cross the Brazos River at this point. Juanita was talented as a painter. She painted her memories years later of the covered wagons crossing the river, and gave to her Papa. John was adament that his children finish high school which was the 11th grade at that time. They all worked hard on the farm. They were late starting to school each year as they all picked cotton until the crop was finished. Each one did graduate from high school which was unusual at that time with most families.

After completing her high school graduation, Juanita went further with education attending college. She receiver a teaching certificate, and taught in the elementary school in Vera for several years. She also taught in Alta Vita & Calhan Colorado, and at Shepard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls where she had resided for 21 years. She finished her college as an adult. She married Alvin Irby August 20, 1934. Her favorite flower was Sunflowers.

Juanita was preceded in death by Infant Daughter, Penelope "Penny" Alva Irby, in Feb 1945. She was also preceded in death by her father, John Wilton Hollabaugh in 1958

Survivors include her Husband, Alvin Irby, of Wichita Falls; two Daughters, Helen "Noel" & Holly Suzanne Irby of Wichita Falls; Mother, Mrs J. W.
