Benny Greenspan of Brownsville died Friday at Valley Regional Medical Center. He was 71.

Greenspan, a native of Chelsea, Mass., was past Chancellor of the Welcome Lodge Knights of Pythias #158 and a member of the Jewish War Vets Dorchester Post 630 for his service in World War II.

A graveside service will be held today at 1 pm at Hebrew Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy R. Greenspan of Brownsville, son and daughter-in-law, Henry and Gay Jokl Greenspan of Brownsville; grandson, Jerry Jokl Greenspan of Brownsville and brother Abraham Greenspan of Randolph, Mass.

The family requests donations be made to the New England Hebrew Academy at 9 Prescott Street, Brookline, Mass. 02146
