Monument placed at the gravesite of Mark Anthony Cooper.
Inscription reads:
This family cemetery containing eleven graves was removed from Glen Holly in 1949 to permit construction of Allatoona Dam & Reservoir.
Erected by Corp of Engineers, U.S. Army

This is the family cemetery that was once on the Glen Holly estate of Mark Cooper. The graves from that cemetery were moved to Oak Hill Cemetery during the creation of Allatoona Dam and Lake Allatoona

This large cold blast furnace is the only thing that remains of the booming town of Etowah, which was destroyed by General Sherman. The furnace, built by Moses Stroup, was the center of Mark Anthony Cooper's Etowah Iron Works company.
