His wife was also his cousin-her mother Elizabeth {Hyde} Holmes {b.Jan 21, 1699 d.Nov 24, 1753 Norwich CT was daugther of William Hyde and Anne Bushnell. William Hyde {b.Jan 1669 d. July 8, 1759} of New London CT was son of Samuel Hyde and Jane Lee who were also the grandparents of Deborah {Lord} Jewett the mother of Captain Joseph Jewett.
