Came to Hawthorne with his parents when he was five. He had is schooling in Mineral County, graduating in 1953. He was employed with the Naval Ammunition Depot and after retiring from there went to work for the Mineral County School District. Bob and his wife also at one time owned Charlie's Liquor Store in Hawthorne. His wife said she would work there without a paycheck if they could go on a nice vacation once a year, true to his word to her they did just that, family in tow. He married his high school sweetheart on 1 Jul 1955, she survives him. Lived at 809 K Street in Hawthorne. Bob also served for 27 years in the Nevada Army National Guard and was the Commanding officer of both the Yerington and Hawthonre detachment.
