EXPANSION OF FIRM IS ANNOUNCED HERE
Relocation & expansion of Wallace Manufacturing Company here was announced Wednesday by the firm's president, Charles William Wallace, Jr. New site for the firm will be an 11 acre tract in IDI's Expressway East Industrial District on the Wichita-Clay County line. Wallace said plans called for a structure with 16,000 square feet of manufacturing space plus an additional 1500 feet of office area. The building will accommodate a pair of 3-ton traveling cranes under its 20 foot high ceilings. The expansion will not only double the plant's capacity but increase its employment by the same ratio. Wallace Manufacturing Company, presently located at 1300 East Side Drive, has been in business since 1952. It produces machinery guards, materials handling and conveying equipment and does sheet metal fabrication .
