Memphis Girl Becomes Bride of Alabaman, in Ceremony at Gayoso Hotel
Of interest to Memphis society is the announcement today of the marriage of Miss Jean Becker, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Arthur H. Becker, to William Wallace, Jr. of Birmingham, son of Mrs. Charles Woodford Wallace of Monroe, Louisiana. The ceremony was performed yesterday morning at the Gayoso where Mr. & Mrs. Becker make their home. The Rev. Charles F. Blaisdell officiated. The bride wore a Hattie Carnegie model - black crepe costume suit with black accessories. She wore a corsage of white orchids. After the ceremony and reception, the couple left for a wedding trip to Florida.

The bride made her home, before coming to Memphis, in Helena, Arkansas and Tallulah, Louisiana. She attended Ward-Belmont in Nashville and was graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She is a member of Chi Omega Sorority. Mr. Wallace attended New Mexico Military Academy and is also a graduate of Louisiana State University of Baton Rouge. He is a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and is with Continental Gin Company in Birmingham, Alabama.
