HORACE HISCOCK DIES AT PREBLE

Well Known Farmer Passes Away After Period of Ill Health

PROMINENT IN COUNTY LIFE

For Years He Resided in Jamesville and for a Time Was inBusiness in the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania.

Horace Hiscock, a prominent farmer of Preble, a brotherof Former United States Senator, Frank Hiscock and the late Supervisor CharlesHiscock of Dewitt, died at his home last night. He had been in failing health for the past two or three years.

Mr. Hiscock, who was known through-out the southern partof the county. He was born in the townof Pompey. He was 77 years old and hisearly life was spent upon the farm at Pompey. About thirty years ago he became a merchant at Pittston, in the coalregions of Pennsylvania where he continued in business for five years. For the next five years he conducted a storeat Jamesville, this county, and five years ago he moved onto the farmoriginally purchased by his maternal grandfather at Preble, where he died.

Mr. Hiscock received his education at the old Pompey Academy. He is survived only by a widow and one brother, former Senator Hiscock. Arrangements for the funeral have not been made.
