Bernard Hamilton Sr., 67, of Broadway, Sleightsburg, died at his home Wednesday following a long illness. Born in the Town of Olive, he was the son of the late Walter and Harriet Ecker Hamilton. He had lived in Sleightsburg for the past 18 years. A retired shipping clerk, he had been employed by Everett and Treadwell. Surviving are his wife, the former Orpha Every; six sons, Bernard of Sawkill, Reginald of Mt. Marion, Claude of Goshen, Robert, serving with the U. S. Navy, Walter of Sleightsburg and Ronald Hamilton of Washingtonville; five daughters, Mrs. Olive Bogart and Mrs. Albert Vedder of Kingston, Thelma Hamilton of Sleightsburg, Mrs. Martin Solomon of West Point and Mrs. Robert Sandy of Highland; a sister Mrs. John Capps of Phoenicia; 23 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Henry J. Bruck Funeral Home, 27 Smith Avenue, Saturday 2 p. m. The Rev. Ralph E. Hughes, pastor of the Trinity Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Port Ewen.
