Lucille Atkinson, daughter of Mr and Mrs J.S. Atkinson, died at 1:30 Sunday morning in the Hand hospital at Shenandoah.

Lucille, who was a junior in high school, came home Tuesday noon complaining of not feeling well and went to bed. Wednesday evening she became much worse, lapsing into unconsciousness, and Friday morning at 2:30 was taken to the Hand hospital in Shenandoah. Her condition was diagnosed as acute diabetes.

Lucille was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and of the Eldorado class of the Methodist Episcopal Sunday school. She was also a member of the Girl Reserves and of the Sunshine club of the Clarinda high school. She was sixteen years of age.

She is survived by her parents, Mr and Mrs J.S. Atkinson and by a brother, Shelby Atkinson, and a sister, Dorothy Mae; also by her grandparents, Mr and Mrs E.D. Cullison.
