Mrs Kate Atkinson, formerly of Clarinda and wife of the late Sam Atkinson, died late Saturday evening at the Wesley Hospital in Wichita, Kans. She had been hospitalized a week prior to the death from a heart attack.
Her body was flown to Clarinda Monday afternoon. Services to be Thursday, at 2 pm conducted by the Walker Funeral Home. The Rev Lester Greenwood will officiate. Miss Aletha Hutchings being at the organ. She is survived by Shelby Atkinson, son of Albuquerque, N Mex, and Mrs Martha Hull, daughter of Wichita. She was 83 years of age.
Mrs Atkinson was the daughter of the F.D. Cullison, Mr Cullison being early real estate dealer. Her two sisters, Mrs Leroy (Evelyn?) Welch and Miss Cloteen Cullison both preceded her in death. The Atkinson home was on West Stuart St until 28 years ago when Mrs Atkinson went to Wichita after Mr Atkinson's death.
