MULLINS - Joe W. King, 54, citizen of Kingstree, formerly of Mullins, died at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Hemingway early Thursday due to a heart attack suffered Wednesday afternoon. Funeral arraignments are incomplete awaiting the arrival of his only son, S2-c James William King of the US Navy.
Mr. King was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. W. King of Mullins. He was a native of [present day] Dillon County.
Survivors include his widow, the former Grace Johnson; and one son,S2-c James William King of the Navy; a brother, Dr. W. E. King of Aynor; and one sister, Mrs. Claude McMillan of Mullins.
