Lael Stolworthy Carlson passed away January 18, 2002 in Idaho Falls after a courageous 11 year battle with cancer. Lael was born in Brockman, Idaho, August 11, 1920 to Edward A. and Mulvena Christensen Stolworthy. She grew up in Idaho Falls but usually spent her summers at her father's sheep ranch in Brockman. She attended O. E. Bell Jr. High, Idaho Falls High School and Utah State University.
She married Kenneth M. Carlson on December 27, 1940 and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in December, 2001. She enjoyed traveling to their home in Arizona each fall but always insisted on being home in Idaho Falls in December to prepare for annual family Christmas parties. Many happy and memorable times were spent at their cabin in Island Park with her children and grandchildren.
