∼Bernice Owens Hudspeth was born July 18, 1913 to Fred L. and Marie Owens in Keya Peha County, Nebraska and passed away peacefully in her sleep November 10, 2007 in Oklahoma City. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William Clifton Hudspeth and eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include daughter, Martha Greenfield and grandsons, Eric Oesch and Kyle Greenfield of OKC; step grandchildren, Tim Greenfield, Dallas, TX; Brenda Lowery and husband Dave, Dodge City, KS; and great-granddaughter Haley Greenfield, OKC. Mrs. Hudspeth and husband W.C. retired from a working quarter horse ranch in 1978 to move closer to family in Oklahoma. The Hudspeth name was synonymous with outstanding Quarter Horse bloodlines throughout the Midwest. She was a member of the Britton Road Church of Christ and active in the community by helping provide meals for senior citizens. She loved her family and raising delicate violets. Mrs. Hudspeth will be buried beside her husband, W.C. (Tip) in Pleasant Hill, MO. Graveside services are pending. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Warr Acres Nursing Center for their tender care during the past years.
