Omaha Daily Bee, March 21, 1899:

Miss Bessie Meyers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Meyers, Twenty-third and I streets, who is ill with pneumonia, is doing as well as can be expected.

Omaha Daily Bee, Sunday, July 9, 1899:

Miss Bessie Meyers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Meyers, Twenty-third and I streets, died yesterday at Chicago as the result of a surgical operation. Miss Meyers was taken to Chicago about a week ago for treatment, and the operation was reported to have been entirely satisfactory. The shock to her nervous system, however, proved to be too severe and death occurred at 3:20 o'clock Saturday morning.

Miss Bessie was one of the most popular young women in South Omaha and her hosts of friends will greatly regret to hear of her death. Mr. and Mrs. Meyers have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of acquaintances.

A telegram was received from Mr. Meyers yesterday afternoon stating that he would reach here with the remains on Monday and that the funeral would be held on Tuesday.
