Amelia "Millie" Price Churchyard was a high-kick dancer on the American burlesque stage and got her start in the dance halls of her native London. She came to the U.S. in 1888 and danced under the stage name Millie Price. She married Clarence Merrill Dow of Denver in 1891 and was shortly afterward divorced, but used the name Millie Price-Dow on stage until she remarried, to William King Churchyard of Buffalo, New York, in 1892. She retired to Mount Clemens, Michigan about 1921 and died there in 1947. Her grave in Clinton Grove Cemetery was given a new marker by the Macomb County Historical Society in 2012.
