Filomena married Berardino (Bernard) Petosa about 1860 in Vinchiaturo. He immigrated to the United States from Italy about 1878 and she and four of their children following in 1882 across the Atlantic on the ship Archimede to New York.

Her children were Pasquale, Agata Aretella, Francesco Alfonso, Colomba Libre, Nunsia, Mary Carmina, and Rose.

Her daughter, Agata, married Vito Pascale at the Church of the Assumption in Chicago in 1883 and relocated to Omaha, Nebraska. Pasquale relocated to Montana. All other children raised families in Illinois.

Filomena passed away from typhoid in 1885.
