Married Lucinda Tracewell daughter of William Tracewell and Sarah Atwood Tracewell in Warren County, VA on 26 Mar 1849.

Following Lucinda's death in 1871, Larkin Lake
married Alice Rachel Updike on 4 Mar 1873 in Warren County, VA daughter of Daniel and Rebecca Ann Oder Updike.

Larkin Lake and Alice Rachel Updike Lake had the following children:
1) Worthie D. Lake b. Oct 1874 - 2 Dec 1879 died when only 5 years old and buried in the Larkin Lake Family Cemetery at Westminister Drive & Walker Avenue near the New Warren County High School, Front Royal, VA.
2) Wilbur M. Lake b. 9 Apr 1877 - 30 Nov 1879 died as a 2 1/2 year old child and is also buried in the Larkin Lake Family Cemetery, Warren County, VA.
3) Bessie O. Lake b. 23 Dec 1878 - 21 Jul 1975 married Albert Franklin Clarke and is buried in Prospect Hill Cemetery

Some records indicate that Larkin Lake died 29 Nov 1879 from Scarlet Fever which may explain the death of his two young sons - Worthie D. Lake and Wilbur M. Lake - who died within days of their father.
