Medical Figure. She was the Duke University Medical Center patient who made national headlines when her heart-lung transplant failed after she was given the wrong set of organs. Her O-positive body rejected the type-A organs, and she had to undergo a second transplant within days in order to have any chance of survival. Unfortunately, due to the result of being on life support in between surgeries, Jesica's other major organs failed, and she became brain dead. Life-support procedures were halted soon after.
