"Mrs. Mattie Mahon of Oakland, Calif., is visiting at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Mahon of Babbitt." Note: the following marriage license was issued after it is claimed the Mahon's are married. Was Virginia Harold's second wife ?

Harold F. Mahon 47 of Babbitt, Mineral, NV and Virginia Hart 45 of Walnut Creek, CA

Mrs. Virginia Mahon, wife of Harold Mahon of Hawthorne was shot and killed by ex con and Montana parolee Alvin Peterson, 33, a highway worker. Mahon owned and operated the Cliff House (where she was shot to death) resort which at one time was on the other side of the road from where it is now. She is buried on the corner of Leona and Gladys Way in Walker Lake, Mineral, NV on the sight of her old chicken coupe not far from the original site of the Cliff House.
Virginia was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
