Rites Held for Jennie Usiak

Funeral services will be held this afternoon, Thursday, at 2:00 at Tate-Weaver Funeral Home for Mrs. Jennie Usiak, 83, who passed away Monday at the Oceana Hospital after a brief illness.

Mrs. Usiak was born at Douglas, Michigan, on June 7, 1883, and had lived in Hart for the past eight years, coming here from Ferry. She married George Crisman on November 7, 1900, at Allegan. On December 22, 1909, she married Jacob Achterhof at Allegan. He died in 1934. On December 10, 1941, she married George Usiak at Shelby. He died March 11, 1959. Mrs. Usiak was a member of the Ferry Methodist Church, the Hart Improvement Circle, and the Ferry Ladies Aid.

Surviving are: three sons, Bernath Crisman of Warsaw, Missouri, John Achterhof of Lansing, and Fred Achterhof of Tuscolusa, Alabama; two daughters, Mrs. Buryl Ernst of Grand Haven and Mrs. Vera Glover of Hart; a sister, Mrs. Katherine Olsen of Chicago; five stepsons, George Usiak of Ludington, Sam Usiak of Rothbury, and Dan, Mike and Paul Usiak of Shelby; three step daughters, Mrs. L.D. Studer of Warren, Mrs. Theodore Crant of Oak Park, and Mrs. Stanley Parker of St. Clair Shores; 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Rev. Herbert Bengtson will officiate at the services and interment will be in the Hart Cemetery.
