Full Name: Edward Clarence Francis Abbey

Parents: Lewis David and Charlotte M.(Simmons) Kellogg Abbey (married circa 1873)

Half-Sibling: Sarah May (Kellogg) Lickert (6-18-1868 to 1-12-1930)

Siblings: James Abbey (6-26-1874 to 4-7-1954), Anna Ruth "Annie" (Abbey) Deyardin (8-10-1876 to 1942), Orpha Abbey, Clara (Abbey) Tyack Keller (1879-1922), Sarah P. Abbey (2-12-1896 to 11-28-1910)

Spouse: Abigail Elizabeth Warren (married 3-17-1919, in Columbiaville, Michigan) He was 32; she, 16.

Their Children: Iva (Abbey) Barber, Edward Erwin Abbey (6-19-1922 to 10-27-1922), Ethel (Abbey) Thompson (10-15-1924 to 3-30-2006), Mina (Abbey) Papke, Grace (Abbey) Shell, Gilbert Bruce Abbey (4-9-1931 to 10-31-1997), Lewis Dean Abbey (11-4-1934 to 3-7-1999), Lucille Elaine Abbey (4-2-1937 to 5-19-1953)

It appears that Edward's mother, when 17, married Palmer Kellogg, age 19, on 2-8-1866, in Macomb County, Michigan, and had at least one child, Sarah May Kellogg, born 6-28-1870, in Pontiac, Michigan. The 1880 Federal Census doesn't show Sarah living with the Abbey family, in Macomb County, however. She was only 10, in 1880, so may have been living with the Kellogg family. (Further research needed.)

Edward was employed by the Lapeer County Road Commission most of his working years. He and Abigail Elizabeth raised their children in Columbiaville, Michigan, with their last residence located on Columbiaville Road, just east of the village.

Funeral services were held on Monday, August 21, 1972, at Baird-Newton Funeral Home, Columbiaville, Rev. LaVern Davis officiating.
