His three-book series, "The Han Solo Adventures," started in 1979 with "Han Solo at Stars' End," the first book of the trilogy, making a New York Times bestseller. The four-book "GammaLAW" series was edited by Luceno and published posthumously. After high school, he entered the U.S. Army, serving a year in Vietnam before attending New Jersey State College. He majored in Media while writing his first book.
