Ray Adams of Hamilton died Jan. 27, 2009 in the Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville. Graveside services were held Jan. 31 in the Turnersville Cemetery with Brad Davis and Gilbert Donald officiating.

Mr. Adams was born Oct. 6, 1935 in Coryell County, the son of Richard Earl and Dicie Norene Kelley Adams. He was a member of the Cowboy Elks in Stephenville and a devout Christian. He had a love of music and was a very skilled singer and steel guitar player.

He worked for the City of Hamilton Water Plant, from which he retired, and was a former Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Matthews; children, Patty Davis, James Adams, Lorene Wheeler, Pam Rogers, Richard Porter, Kelly Solomon, Karen DeLong, Dennis Favor, John Mark Cowan, Rhonda Ford and Dan Earl Ray Adams; a brother, Jim Adams and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchilden.
