Rock Producer and Songwriter. Born in London, England, he was one of the great music producers of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, 80s and early 1990s. He composed songs for Cliff Richard including, "Mean Streak" "Never Mind" "High Class Baby" and his first big success, "Move It." The song was a great success and acclaimed world-wide fame and was considered to be one of the first British hits in England, and opened the door for such acts like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. He also worked with Small Faces, writing there song, "What'cha Gonna Do About It" and he also discovered and wrote songs for the band America, including "A Horse With No Name," "I Need You," "Sandman," and others. He also worked with, The Ilsey Brothers, Chubby Checker, Johnny Tillotson, Kenny Lynch, Aynsley Dunbars, Rod Staewart and The Faces and Meic Stevens. Other songs he wrote were "You Can Never Stop Me Loving You," "Das Kannst Du Mir Nicht Verbreten," "He's Got Something," and "Everybody Needs Somebody To Love." In the 1980s he moved to Los Angeles, California, to produce the band, Bourgeois-Tagg, and continued his success until heart problems forced him to slow down and in 1991 having heart surgery. He was known as 'The Father of British Rock 'n' Roll Music.'
