Antone Silva Dies at 74
Had Lived lere For 54 Years.
Antone Silva, aged 74, Died in a local hospital yesterday morning following a lingering illness. Deceased was a native of St. George, Azores Islands, and was born there Feb.. 17, 1870.
He was a retired farmer and had lived in this community for 54 years.
Deceased is survived by three sons, Frank G. Silva of Santa Maria, Tony Silva of Long Beach, and Manuel Silva of the Navy, now in the Aleutian Islands; four daughters, Mrs. Mary G. Silva, Mrs. Frances Gomez, Mrs. Bello Bisho and Mrs. Flora Owsley, all of Santa Maria; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
His wife, Isabel, died several years ago.
Deceased was a member of the I.D.E.S. and the U.P.E.C.
Rosary will be recited tonight at 8 oclock in the C. P. Magner Funeral Home. Requiem high mass will be said tomorrow morning in St. Marys Catholic Church at 9 oclock with the Rev. Dominic Daley officiating.
Interment will be in the family plot in Santa Maria Cemetery.
