of Newaygo Co., Michigan.

Born July 1, 1868-1870 Newaygo Co., Michigan. Even though tombstone and death certificate say b. 1872 by a family member. On records have seen age range of 1868-1870-1872.
i used 1870 as birth year because of 1880 Census under parents:
Taylor Babacock, Denver Twp., Newaygo Co., MI. She is 10 years old on this census.

She married four times, 3 divorces, and children from each marriage except for last husband Edward (Edd) Hernes no children from this union.
When divorced they split up the families and both would take different children to raise, as per Frank Mcrorie
grandson of Raymond Howard Mattison.

Family rumor: Grandson of Raymond Howard Mattison, Frank Mcrorie says that Lucius and Rosetta V. Mattison had Raymond and Caddie Mattison and when divorced Rosetta kept
Ada and Eva Mattison and Lucius kept two youngest children.
I believe Raymond Howard Mattison could be their child but
Caddie definately was Lucius and Lettie Best's daughter
even though Lucius and Lettie didn't marry till 1906

Second Marriage:
Rosetta V. Babcock, Mattison remarried to Philemon D. Gilbert 27 Feb. 1892 Leavitt, Oceana Co. MI. and had son William D. Gilbert #85967299 b. 26 Aug. 1893 Walkerville, Oceana Co., MI. Rosetta couldn't have had Caddie since she had remarried and had son William Gilbert in 1893.
They divorce and Philemon D. Gilbert and son William Gilbert
living 1900 Macon, Powhatan Co., Virginia. Rosetta didn't keep this son he lived with father Philemon D. Gilbert.

Third Marriage:
Rosetta Gilbert married 3rd husband George Thomas McCoy 27 Aug. 1902 Copemish, Manistee Co., MI.
They had 7 children:

Rosetta remarried.

Fourth Marriage
No Marriage found for Ed,Edd, Edward Hernes to Rosetta Violet Babcock, Mattison, Gilbert, McCoy. They married 1926-1930 probably Muskegon, MI. No children.
They are listed on 1930 Federal Census in Mecosta, Mecosta Co., MI. as Edd Hernes, Violet Hernes and her father Taylor Babcock.
Edward Hernes was the Guardian for her father Taylor Babcock.  Guardianship papers on file in Muskegon Co., MI.  No marriage record has been found to date to Ed, Edd or Edward Hernes. Believe problem is in the spelling of Hernes and record. Rosetta Violet’s Death and Tombstone is under the McCoy surname.

Rosetta Violet McCoy died 19 Nov. 1947 Muskegon Heights, Muskegon Co., MI.  and buried in Lakeside Cemetery, Muskegon Heights, MI. under the McCoy surname so there is question as if she married a 4th time or since she had McCoy children she was buried on this surname?
