Raymond Crabtree, 78, of 4119 Phoenix Drive, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Sunday, December 25, 1988 in Community Hospital following an extended illness. He was born on March 6, 1910 in Scioto County, Ohio the son of Thomas and Bertha (Leslie) CRABTREE. He was a member of the Northside Christian Church and was an honorary life member of the International Printing and Graphic Communication Union. He had been employed for 28 years for Crowell-Collier and was retired from the Columbus Dispatch Printing Company. Survivors include his wife, the former Mary COX; one daughter, Mrs. Irvan (Suzanne) HONNOLD of Springfield; four grandchildren, John HONNOLD, Karen BOGGS, and John CRABTREE, all of Springfield, Jill CRABTREE of Cincinnati; one great-grandson, Cody Ray CRABTREE; two sisters, Elizabeth FITZWATER of Springfield and Beatrice KNISLEY of Jamestown; a half-sister, Mrs. Raymond Mercy MILLER of Springfield; a half-brother, Richard GREEn of Xenia; several nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends. He was preceded in death by one son, John (Bud) CRABTREE. His body was taken to the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home where friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. Steve Getz officiating. Burial will be in South Solon Cemetery.
