Daughter of Alfonso S. Jopp & Rose M. Minor.

Death of Mrs. Whitaker.

Mrs. Addie Whitaker died at her home in this city, Saturday morning, July 27, at 6 o'clock. The cause of her death was paralysis of the throat, with which she had been ill for several months, conscious but unable to speak.

Addie Jopp was born at Excelsior, Wis., and reached the age of 44 years, 6 months and 1 day. She came to this city from Chetek some 17 years ago. April 7, 1900, she as united in marriage to R. M. Whitaker of this city.

She leaves a son, Leon, aged 10 years, besides her husband and parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Jopp, also two stepchildren, Mert Whitaker and Mrs. T. F. Milligan of Spokane, Wash. The latter was on a trip to Arizona and word of her step-mother's death reached her at Los Angeles, too late for her to get here to attend the funeral. She will arrive here Saturday morning.

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Melrose of the Presbyterian church on the lawn at the residence, Tuesday afternoon, and interment was made at Nora cemetery. Mrs. Kate Sawyer, a sister of Mr. Whitaker, and five classmates of the deceased in the high school at Chetek, were present at the funeral.

Mrs. Whitaker was a prominent worker in the Presbyterian Sunday school and in the Woman's Relief Corps, of which she was treasurer prior to her illness. Her kindly services in these organizations greatly endeared her to a large circle of friends, who extend their sincere sympathy to the bereaved family.
