From her obituary, published in the Miami Daily News on January 31, 1936:

Funeral for Mrs. Steeley --
Mrs. Lizzie Copeland Steeley died at her home south of Fairland last Friday night. Mrs. Steeley was apparently in good health when she retired Friday night. Her death was discovered by her 12-year-old daughter, Stella May, Saturday morning. Lizzie Geyer was married to John (sic) Copeland at the early age of 14 years, Twelve children were born, three having preceded her in death. Mr. Copeland died about five years ago. Mrs. Copeland was married to Dave Steeley last June. Mr. Steeley is a patient in the Vinita hospital. She is survived by her husband, five sons, Fred Copeland of Joplin, Ray Copeland of Picher, Earl Copeland of Texas, Homer Copeland of Utah and Floyd Copeland of the home: four daughters, Mrs. Mandy McCabe in California, Mrs. Ruth Taylor of Fairland, Stella Mays Copeland of the home and a married daughter, Christine, in Idaho, last name is unknown; two sisters of Diamond, Okla.; six brothers. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home by the Baptist minister of Miami.
