George was baptized at the old Trinity Church in Boston on October 30, 1808.
"Mr. George Hancock, one of the descendants of Governor John Hancock, died in Chicago last Friday, and his body will this afternoon be laid in the family tomb in the Granary Burying Ground. Mr. Hancock, whose age was seventy-seven, was one of the nine children of John Hancock, the heir to the governor's wealth. The survivors of the line at present are Charles Lowell, Franklin and Washington Hancock." - Boston Evening Transcript, October 30, 1885.
Reverend Leonard K. Storrs, pastor of St. Paul’s Church in Brookline, performed the ceremony on October 30th.
