Funeral services for Edna Fern Bennett Adams, 91, West Plains, were Thursday, March 10, 2011, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams died at 4:42 p.m., Monday, March 7, 2011, in West Vue Nursing Center. She was born Jan. 15, 1920, in Howell County, Mo., to Rube and Jennie Morgan Collins. On May 4, 1935, she was married at Hardy, Ark., to Stafford Bennett, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1976. In February of 1979, she was married at her home in Pomona, Mo., to John "Jack" Adams, who preceded her in death in 1988. Mrs. Adams worked at nearly every election as a Democrat poll worker and attended many state conventions and county Democrat meetings. She was an avid card player, enjoyed her flowers, gardening and loved to cook. She and her husband were farmers and she was active in farm organizations. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church for over 70 years and was a Sunday School teacher. She is survived by her son, Dean Bennett, wife, Melba; three grandchildren, Vicky Wade, husband, Lee, Sharon Hunter, husband, Vernon and Robbie Hall, wife, Sandy; four great-grandchildren, Brandon Lane Hunter, Jason Lambert, Lauren Hall and Kayla Hall; two sisters, Shirley Brown and Gladys Smith; sister-in-law, Louise McConnell; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents; husbands; one daughter, Joyce Bennett; one son, Robert Bennett; three sisters, Doris Anderson, Wilma Bradford and Mildred Oaks; and five brothers, Clyde, Clarence, Wayne, Fred and Don Collins, precede her in death. Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Olden, Mo., under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt.
