Joy Ernestine Allen Suttle, of Houston, passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Richland to Sue Belle and Earnest Allen. She was a member of Park Place Methodist Church in Houston. Joy worked as a nurse at VA Hospitals in Dallas and Houston for more than 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Sue Belle Allen; and husband, Carroll Suttle.
Survivors include one son, Leslie Suttle and wife Pat of Houston; daughter, Diana Shindler and husband Daniel of Bay City; grandchildren, Will Shindler and Kacy Shindler of Bay City; brothers, J.W. Allen and wife Naomi of Corsicana, and Thomas Allen of Richland; sister, Sue McLauren of Corsicana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011 at Corley Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Alexander officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery in Richland.
Pallbearers are Paul Allen, Larry McLauren, Allen McLauren, Gene Suttle, Joe Simpson and Will Shindler. Honorary Pallbearer is Kacy Shindler.
