"Mrs. Carver, the aged mother of Messrs. Clark Knight, J. T. and Monron Carver, died at her home five miles southwest of Rockdale, Wednesday morning at 3 o'clock, after a long illness. Her remains were interred in the Old Salem burying grounds Wednesday evening."

Obituary
"The death of grandma Carver occurred on the 16th inst. At the residence of herself and son, About for and ________ South west from Rockdale. Near seventy eight years old, was born, raised and married to her first husband, Mr. Knight, in Mississippi, by whom she was the mother of three children William, John and Clark. Being left a widow she moved with her three Boys and Fathers family to Texas, in 1867. Finally settled in Madison County, After a time married Mr. Carver by who she became the mother of four children. Thomas, Mont. and a little by and girl who died in infancy. She gave her heart to God and was Baptised into the fellowship of Old-New Salem Baptist church about thirty years ago, was a consistent member of Longview Baptist church near her home at time of her death.
For some time past, old age and affliction with enervating tendencies wasted her strength until a few days before death she suffered excruciatingly with something like Pleurisy with which she died. But dear old mother, its all over now. You are done with the Sufferings, Trials and Toils of this life.
We, your children, grand children, neighbors and friends bid you an affectionate farewell till we meet in the Paradise of God.
