Of North Highlands, CA, passed away Dec. 13, 2010 at the age of 91. She was born May 5, 1919, in Rome, NY. The daughter of John F. and Caroline Nassel Kosler. Mary graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1937. On August 9, 1941, she was united in marriage to James T. McNamara in St. Mary's Church. While in Rome, Mary was employed by the New York Telephone Company and later was a housewife. Upon moving to CA she was employed in market research. Later, she was an office volunteer with the Boy Scouts in Sacramento, a position she had until the age of 88. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Mary always put the needs of others before her own. She helped with Christmas baskets and with distribution of food to the less fortunate. Mary is survived by her daughters, Sharon Ruberti (Bob) and Mary Ellen Landry (David) and her sons, John, Mark (Patty), and Richard (her caregiver). Also surviving are grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Ruberti, Craig (Sarah) Ruberti and Kathleen Ruberti; Lissa Potter, Scott Landry, Rene Perkett, Danielle McNamara; and Jill Twiss. Mary had 13 great-grandchildren: Katie, Timothy, Eloise, Ashley, Alexi, Dana, Corey, Grant, Kasi, Dustin, Miranda, Taylor and Devin. She was predeceased by her husband, James T., Sr., her son, James T., Jr., her infant twin sister, her sister, Margaret Kosler, and daughters-in-law Lillian McNamara and Thresa McNamara. While in Rome Mary was a member of St. Mary's Church. She was also a member of St. Lawrence Church in North Highlands. Visitation will be held at Lombard & Co., 1550 Fulton Ave. on Saturday, Dec. 18th at 1PM. Mary will be interred at St. Mary's Cemetery, Rome, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sutter Hospice.
