Michael Frances, born May 20, 1887and his second wife, Angela, were usually at the family gatherings. (He was the first child born in this country, while his mother was desperately homesick for Ireland. She was almost overcome by the bleak prairies of Nebraska and the small, dark, sod house where the five of them were living. I wonder what, if any, effect that had on him emotionally.) His first wife and their unborn child had died during the flu epidemic. During World War l Michael Frances Darcy was an ambulance driver, and was long haunted by those memories. He married Angela Kavanaugh and they had no children. He died in 1942 at the age of 55 at Grand Island, Nebraska. Margaret became a Catholic Nun, Sister Mary Wilhemina; Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
