Quaker by birth, son of John William and Mary (Warner) Eblin. His family moved to Loudoun County, Virginia in 1762. Disowned by the Quakers many times, including twice for bearing arms in the War of the Revolution. Married twice, he was the father of at least 7 children, including Abijah, the only known child of his first marriage. Many report his burial as being in Copple Cemetery, however, "History of Walnut Hill: a Chronology" indicates the "Old Walnut Hill Cemetery" is Samuel's final resting place along with many by the name Copple.

14 Jan 2013 ~ Update, per Linda McCall.
Harold Boyles, in charge of the local area Genealogical and Historical Society and a descendant, reported that Samuel's grave has not been found. They gave the location a concerted effort several years ago when a Revolutionary War memorial was comissioned for another veteran and they wanted to get one for Samuel also but could never verify his actual burial site-- too many discrepancies.
