Professional Football Player. For eleven seasons (1968 to 1978), he played at the center and offensive-tackle positions in the National Football League with the San Francisco 49ers and Baltimore Colts. Born Forrest Murrell Blue, Jr., he was raised in Tampa, Florida where he attended Chamberlain High School and played collegiate football at Auburn University. Selected by the 49ers during the 1st round (15th overall pick) of the 1968 NFL Draft, he appeared in 148 regular season games and earned Pro-Bowl honors four consecutive times (1971 to 1974), establishing himself as one of the league's best centers from that period. During his years with San Francisco, he contributed to three NFC West Division berths (1970 to 1972) and formed an impressive offensive line with Woody Peoples, Randy Beisler, Len Rohde and Cas Banaszek. While with the Colts, he was a member of three AFC East Division Title teams (1975 to 1977). After retiring from football, Blue worked as a general contractor and established his own company.
