Hunter developed an upper respiratory infection in the beginning of April 2003. The vet treated him, but he did not seem to respond to antibiotics. A local animal welfare group helped Marcia and paid expenses for him to be taken to their veterinarian, who found an aggressive tumor under his tongue. She gave him a steroid shot and another round of antibiotics, and said he was incurable. Another week went by, and on April 17, Marcia and I took Hunter to the vet who agreed that he should be euthanized. We stayed with him during the procedure and his passing was serene and peaceful.
Now he resides in Heaven with Marcia's little girl, Brigid whose Angel date is April 30. Hunter was a gentle, loving, but very playful pet.
